Our Mission
We are committed to being more than a store.
Our goal is to provide an entertaining, relaxing, stress-free shopping environment that is constantly evolving, giving our customers something they can’t get anywhere else.
Where do we begin?
In 1999, the Rurka family purchased Home Hardware Building Centre in Lloydminster, Alberta. They have been operating it locally ever since.
The store has changed dramatically over the years. We’ve grown from a humble nuts-and-bolts hardware store on the edge of town into a trend-setting, upscale shopping destination in the same location, now surrounded by a bustling district that has grown with us.
We have welcomed the addition of a variety of unique departments including Home Expressions, Personal Expressions, Gourmet, our Mark Cullen Approved Garden Centre, and, especially, our Timber Café featuring daily lunch specials and unique beverages.
The store has been the recipient of a number of local and national awards, including the Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award, Walter J. Hachborn Store of the Year award, the Canadian Gift and Tableware Retailer of Distinction award, the Hardware Merchandising Outstanding Retailer award, and the Alberta Best of Business Award of Distinction.
What Makes Us Unique?
Timber Café
Prior to our 2nd expansion in 2017, our store had a tiny in-store café named Gingersnaps along with an ice cream shop in the heart of our Garden Centre named Sweetpeas. Today, Timber Café is the mix of both shops into a cozy and relaxing indoor & outdoor setting with a vast homemade menu of delicious drinks, daily lunch specials, desserts, and even breakfast items.
Garden Centre
Our Mark Cullen Approved Garden Centre is one of the largest and most diverse in Canada among Home Hardware stores. It features four greenhouses and a serene outdoor environment showcasing everything to make a beautiful statement in your backyard, from flowers, trees and shrubs, to decorative stone and rock.
Our Garden Centre has been the proud setting of our community’s annual Night Market in the late summer, bringing together local artisans & creators to showcase their home-crafted goods.
Home Expressions
Featuring all of the latest products for decorating your home, Home Expressions features an ever-changing variety of prints, statuary and artwork for adding that personal touch to your home. We offer a wide variety of furniture, mirrors, vases and silk plants year round, as well as specialty items for the changing seasons.
If you would like to turn your house into a home, Home Expressions should be your first stop!
Personal Expressions
Our Personal Expressions department is the place to go if you are looking for a special gift, or maybe just a treat for yourself!
Here you will find the hottest trend-setting personal products, such as jewelry, soaps, a wide assortment of candles, massage therapy, yoga wear, purses, handbags, bath & body products, hats & footwear, and clothing just to name a few!

Lumber & Building Materials
Our Lumber Desk is hosted by a skilled team ready to help you with any project you might have. We can help you with planning and preparing a quote for anything, from a new deck to your dream home.
If you’re finally considering to build your dream home or cottage but don’t know where to start, our experts at the Lumber Desk will be able to answer any questions you may have about our Beaver Homes & Cottages program which includes our exciting new RTM (Ready To Move) Division!

“For The Finer Things In Life,” our Housewares & Gourmet department is the place to go if you are looking for a special gift, or maybe just a treat for yourself! Here you will find all the appliances and kitchen gadgets you could ever want to whip up your masterpieces in the kitchen, not to mention all the essentials.
Our Housewares & Gourmet department is proud to be one of the few Gold dealers in Canada for YETI drinkware and coolers, carrying virtually everything in their catalog of products including clothing.
YETI drinkware and coolers are famous for outperforming others in the industry for ruggedness, functionality, and style.
Tools
The hand tools, power tools, and the accessories for all of your DIY projects are located in our full-featured Tools department. We carry a wide assortment of electric and cordless hand tools as well as any type of bit or attachment you’ll need. We also carry a full variety of air-powered tools and compressors.
Paint
Our highly skilled Paint department staff can prepare any colour you desire with state-of-the-art matching and mixing equipment. If you have an object that bears a colour you like, our matching system will replicate that colour with astonishing accuracy. Your sample could be a blanket, a small piece of siding…anything larger than a loonie.
We carry a lot more than just paint. Everything necessary to complete the job from telescopic paint rollers to drop sheets is available in high variety. We also host a wide selection of the raw plumbing and electrical components you need to complete the job, like fittings, switches, filters, and much more. All offered by a skilled and knowledgeable team of staff.
